This site is my love letter to Winnipeg. We're a city that by necessity of climate is forced to stay mostly indoors 6 months of the year. We have a lot of time to either go crazy or create. Culture, music, film, art, you name it, we have a thriving scene. Until now the only real free option for getting these smaller local events noticed was through social media.
But social media platforms are habit forming, and are intentionally built to keep you scrolling, shorten your attention span, and encourage consumption. More and more, people in my life have begun to notice the impact this level of constant consumption can have on them, and are starting to break away.
So how can you stay in the loop, and stay in control? When I left social media I suddenly had to either subscribe to 9 million newsletters or rely on my friends to text me about events. So I built this. For me. Now it's for you too.
